Highlights of the Alabama Standards for Certification
Programs Must:
  • be 16 weeks in length at a minimum.

  • have a curriculum that emphasizes power and control as the root cause of domestic violence.

  • provide information to ACADV victim programs and the referring court.

  • not focus on anger as the cause of the abusive behavior.

  • have participant agreements outlining the rules of the program.

  • partner with local ACADV member victim’s programs.

  • comply with all aspects of the standards to achieve certification.
