Highlights of the Alabama Standards for Certification

Programs Must:

be 16 weeks in length at a minimum.

have a curriculum that emphasizes power and control as the root cause of domestic violence.

provide information to ACADV victim programs and the referring court.

not focus on anger as the cause of the abusive behavior.

have participant agreements outlining the rules of the program.

partner with local ACADV member victim’s programs.

comply with all aspects of the standards to achieve certification.
